In many ways, 2023 has been an interesting year if challenging. It has arguably been a year where I have seen the most critical acclaim for my work, with Young Men in Love receiving the Gayming Mag Award, the GLAAD Award and the Ringo Award, prompting me to actually set up an ‘Awards Shelf’ in my flat.
It’s also been a very difficult year for my career as a writer, with numerous projects stalling and facing a lot of frustration when pitching for new work.
Highs and lows, to say the least.
In many ways, this year prompted me to take a step back and look at how I approach things. Not least because it also saw a slight diminish in sales at comic cons. Thus, 2024 is a completely new approach for me, which I’ll explain more about in the next post.
I am immensely proud of my achievements in 2023, and if anything, the frustrations have made me focus on how to improve and get better going forward. I am now very excited for what the future holds. Hopefully, you will be too.
